A superb old wooden studio easel with a wonderful paint splattered patina. Late 19th century.
This is a design and configuration we have not seen before, so is certainly rare and may be a one-off, bespoke piece.
Easels make excellent working pieces, or for displaying artworks. They also work re-purposed to display signs and even TVs!
This easel’s display ‘shelf’ is adjustable by 2 pegs, and the top block rests on top of the artwork to secure it.
Beautiful and versatile.
Max depth (at base) 54cm
