An ebonised Chinoiserie display cabinet

An absolutely stunning, early chinoiserie display cabinet. This piece is very large and utterly wonderful!

This beautiful piece features classic Edwardian/early 20th century styling with its curves and lines, it sits on sublime ball and claw feet, and has wonderful raised gesso detailing depicting animals, people and scenes.

It has glass to the front and sides for maximum light. The shelves do lift out and are also glass. The cabinet locks (with one key) and has two independent doors.

The cabinet is lined in what we think is an absolutely stunning samurai motif crepe material, but as the images show there is a simple gold damask beneath (how much, we don’t know!) so it may be possible to remove and restore that if the current bold red and black lining isn’t to your taste or decor.

Superbly stylish and highly useable. So striking.
