An early Victorian taxidermy brown bear head

This stunning, naive piece of folk art taxidermy is extremely rare. Using real brown bear fur, the mouthpiece is made of painted wood with a plaster tongue and would have been mounted by an amateur. It is a substantial piece guaranteed to steal any scene.

Please note that this piece is very old and was mounted in different socio-historic times when hunting was a widely accepted pursuit. By passing this piece on it means that the death of the animal can continue to have meaning and educate future generations.
