Without doubt one of our favourite acquisitions, this all-original, whopping 4.5m long, hand signwritten banner advertising the world famous Billy Graham’s 1953 film ‘Souls in Conflict’ is just stunning!
Dating to 1953, this piece was designed by G R Dilleigh of Northill near Biggleswade (signed*) for the showing of Billy Graham’s film ‘Souls in Conflict’ which was sponsored by the Ampthill Evangelical Film Council.
*Dilleigh ran G R Dilleigh Ltd, Cellulose Sprayers, Welders, Panel Beaters and Signwriters, in Northill, Bedfordshire.
It is beautifully produced, with just the right amount of wear.
The ’Souls in Conflict’ synopsis reads: “Three souls. One solution. A London actress, a poor factory worker and a heroic jet pilot must decide how Jesus Christ will affect the rest of their lives.”
A piece of utterly unique social history linked to one of the “most influential Christian leaders of the 20th Century”, whether you feel that influence achieved good or ill.
This piece has it all!
