A red lacquered Chinoiserie bench and chair suite

A gorgeous and extremely rare Chinese Chippendale chinoiserie lacquered 3-piece suite comprising a very large and luxuriously deep sofa with two accent chairs.

The upholstery is immaculate and recent in a raw feel linen.

The slightly raised gesso detailing is beautiful and all hand painted. Just captivating.

There are so many flourishes to the design and decoration- the curved, scalloped corners, the trellis backs, the floral motifs, the list goes on!

The red is a true pillar box red and is so arresting.

Supremely stylish. We have not had, nor can we find, another. So striking.

If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. As seen in the images, but not limited to: significant surface wear (which we love). One of the single seats has gaps at its joints where the seat and legs dovetail (this is at a join not a break- final image). The chair is still useable but if heavy use is anticipated then restoration such as glueing/clamping would be beneficial.
