A rare set of three green glass apothecary jars

A very good, attractive, original set of early green glass apothecary jars with their original hand painted glass labels, which make a beautiful display together.

Digitalis to strengthen the heart muscle contractions, Hydrarg. Ammon. (Ammoniated Mercury), used for skin diseases (poisonous in high doses) and Spirits of Chloroform, a preservative (and also a solvent and a sweetening agent). Quite the interesting and heady mix! Sadly no contents included!

Graduated sizes, sold only as a set and not individually.
