An outstanding antique plaster death mask of L’Inconnue de la Seine (the Mona Lisa of the Seine- a young, drowned, unknown woman pulled from the water in the late 1800s).

 

Made by top caster Gebruder Micheli of Berlin.

 

A beautiful and authentic piece with good provenance. Late 19th Century.

 

This death mask has a fascinating history inspiring artists, novelists and poets, and later became the basis for resuscitation Anne.
