We love this large, versatile piece- we think it’s perfect as a throw, a bedspread, a floor covering or wall hanging, a tablecloth (perfect for a gypsy table or seance table), or even as a way to make over a sofa into a luxurious carpet style piece at a fraction of the cost. It could also be worn.
Intriguingly it appears to be marked with an anchor to the underside so may have once been part of a luxurious cruise liner’s decor. The ‘84’ may well refer to 1884, as we would date this firmly within the late Victorian period.
A wonderfully attractive thing.
