A large carved wooden Maasai figure

An absolutely stunning solid wood, carved Maasai statue, finely done. Wearing original period Maasai beads.

This piece was purchased between the 1940s and 1978: we can be sure of this as it came from a private collection amassed by a wealthy Kenyan family within this period. It will predate this in terms of its age as the family predominantly collected antique pieces.

A wonderful thing. A cut above your average piece.
