A very well painted and utterly charming oil on canvas of a lady. Excellent proportions at nearly 1m tall.
Ingeniously signed to look like a letter, and dated 1845.
The level of detail is superb- her various pieces of jewellery, her lace, everything is well rendered. Her face and hands are well painted too- always tell-tale signs.
The canvas is stamped Winsor Newton, and there are label remnants as seen. A little bit of research here would be fascinating.
A beautiful looking piece perfect to adorn any period inspired space.
Framed 97cm x 84.5cm
