A superbly modelled full size Blackamoor style figure in fibreglass, holding an outstretched tray. We cannot find another piece like this and it’s doubtful we ever will!
This piece has such character, very much in the style of Hottot. Online we were able to find an original wooden example from a grocer’s shop c.1900 (in Germany) upon which this may be loosely based- it does bear a very strong resemblance! Final image.
This model really is so striking- it would look amazing in a residential setting, maybe a hallway, but also superb in a shop, bar or restaurant. The tray can be removed and it makes an exceptional card/flyer distributor.
Not to be missed. A unique piece.

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. As seen in the images, but not limited to: losses, marks, nibbles etc. He has possible old repairs to his hands but these are holding steady. Not for heavy or boisterous use (!) as fibreglass can be brittle. If you intend to use him outside he’ll need sealing to protect the paint, and possibly weighting down as he’s not very heavy.
