A folk art horse vertebrae representing preacher John Wesley

This wonderful, large old vertebrae from a horse or cow has been hand painted to depict the priest John Wesley, being an English cleric, theologian and evangelist who was a leader of a revival movement within the Church of England known as Methodism (the few of these types of pieces which have been documented state they were made to poke fun at his new evangelical religion of the period).

This outstanding piece of unsigned folk art is a very rare thing indeed and is a must for any wunderkammer. We absolutely love it!
