A traditional barrister's wig

A wonderful late Victorian/early Edwardian horsehair barrister’s wig by top maker Ravenscroft.

From the style of the label, the name (Ravenscroft) and the address (1 Star Yard Lincoln’s Inn Fields) we can date the wig from 1901 to 1921 at the latest, so a superb piece with over 100 years history!

A wonderful thing for display or indeed to wear.

Please note that the stand, skull etc are not included- just the wig.

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. As seen in the images, but not limited to: plenty of use but still going strong. Would benefit from a tidy up (hairs smoothed or snipped etc). We have left this untouched.
