An Anglo-Indian folding tray table with bobbin base

An absolutely superb and large example (77cm) of an early folding tray table, with the wonderful bobbin carvings to the base and a top that can’t be bettered.

We believe the base is leather wrapped, or certainly has a binding or coating of some sorts, and we have been informed that the top is bronze though please satisfy yourself.

What is certain is that the work to that top is exceptional. There are people, lions, leopards, such wonderful, detailed scenes. All worked by hand. A truly exceptional piece.

One of several in this style which we have available.

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. As seen in the images, but not limited to: plenty of wear to all parts, both legs and top, giving it a great patina. The table is steady and solid but these are not meant for heavy use or weighty items. There are losses to the bobbin bead sections as seen.
