A traditional Ravenscroft judge’s wig

A wonderful late Victorian/early Edwardian horsehair judge’s wig by top maker Ravenscroft in superb order.

From the style of the label, the name (just ‘Ravenscroft’ not including ‘Ede’) and the address (1 Star Yard Lincoln’s Inn Fields) we can date the wig from 1901 to 1921 at the latest, so a superb piece with over 100 years' history!

The wig has a cord which can be pulled or loosened at the back and tied internally to adjust the size.

A wonderful thing for display or indeed to wear.

Please note that the bust etc are not included- just the wig.
