An oversized neo-classical white plaster bust

An extremely handsome and well modelled plaster bust.

Oversized- larger than life size.

Though somewhat androgynous in the classical style, it is likely depicting Hermes (though possibly an unknown Roman gentleman).

This wonderful piece is an original piece sculpted in plaster and has some age.

The bust wears a ribboned/garlanded leaf crown (similar to laurel leaf examples) perhaps of Bacchanalian vine leaves. 

Early 20th century, approaching mid-century.

This bust is captivating and will be a joy to add to any interior.
