An original ‘Pick a Winner’ fairground panel - 2 available

Please note that these are priced individually at £145 each.

An awesome, single, true vintage mid century (pre-decimal) fairground sign panel.

We have it on good authority that each wonderful panel was signwritten by Charles Duffield of Colchester, c.1940.

This hand painted panel is beautifully and skilfully signwritten; each is its own work of art and is a one-off piece. They have been created freehand by a master and are not stencilled and are vibrant, wonderful things.

They display beautifully (the golden highlights catch the light perfectly!).

The panel is double sided and has 2 holes to allow for hanging or wall mounting (chains/fixings not included).

Working panels like these are rare survivors and are harder and harder to find in a sea of reproductions. These have been in one fairground family until now… a rare opportunity.

We will allocate the best available from our stock at the time of your order. If you have a preference please do message beforehand here, and we can let you know which we have. Thank you.

Condition
:

Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. Please note that this panel has plenty of wear and surface marking as seen, being an authentic piece not a reproduction.

As seen in the images, but not limited to: wear throughout each board- scratches, rubbing, marks, splatters, paint loss etc.

The final 4 images show the remaining 2 boards: one has a deep a scratch etc, the other has a red halo to the 6 etc as seen. The final board we will allocate has the red halo around one ‘6’, on one side only. These were working fairground boards and would have been set up and packed away hundreds of times when on the road. Now looking for a permanent loving home.
