An 18th or 19th Century pair of Grand Tour marble balls on bronze ormolu stands

An exceptional pair of huge marble spheres mounted on stunning bronze ormolu mounts. These pieces are truly spectacular. The marble is in superb condition and has a beautiful grain. Believed to be Italian Grand Tour pieces. The mounts are wonderfully detailed with flourishes, and both human/angelic faces as well as stylised lion heads.
