An absolutely gorgeous old oak swivel chair, with the most wonderful patina.
Early 20th century.
This chair has no maker’s mark but is completely in keeping with those by American maker Sikes. It is marked ‘USA’ underneath.
The chair is wonderfully crafted with a lovely slat back. Turned and shaped base supports. Original castors. It truly is exceptionally comfortable and is in superb order with the tilt and the swivel mechanism working (the chair’s height is adjustable by hand, by turning the domed cup below- this means that you can swivel without fear of raising or lowering the seat).
Structurally sound and sturdy.
A joy for a lifetime. A beautifully stylish thing and useful too.
