A wooden artist's box with palettes, brushes and paints by C. Roberson

A beautiful, antique, wooden artist’s box with two palettes and numerous paint brushes and tubes of paint.

The paints are by quality London supplier Charles Roberson & Co who have been in existence since 1810.

Everything has the most amazing patina and each paint tube is like a little work of art in its own right, rich in colours and dents.

Please note: This set is sold as purely decorative as everything is covered in a dried film, perhaps where paint or varnish has leaked? The interior has an oily aroma. It has given everything a glaze, preserving the whole piece. The paints are solidified and the lids shut on tight for all time!
