A Victorian crystal ball with box and stand

A beautiful, exceptionally rare glass fortune teller’s ball on an ebonised stand, and in its original oxblood case.

These 19th Century pieces do not come along often (we collect them) and this is a wonderful example.

Hand blown glass with bubbles/inclusions, and an irregular shape (the rippled surface creating strange distortions). An authentic example.

This one is very much in the style of the ‘Two Worlds’ examples, however this piece is unbranded. Two Worlds catered to those hungry for esoteric knowledge and by the end of the 19th/turn of the century, Two Worlds had begun offering their own brand name spirit-communication tools for aspiring home mediums, including dial plates, planchettes and gazing crystals. Along with this came copies,  of which we believe this is one.

It is spine tingling and oh-so thrilling to think of the life of this all-seeing ball across approximately 120 years! A magical piece.
