A Victorian solid wood shop counter

Truly, this counter makes our heart beat a little faster! At over 2m, we absolutely love the form, the patina and the useful functionality of this piece.

The patina of this counter has built up over many decades and is perfect (to our eyes).

Extremely useful, the counter is open from the rear and looks stunning from the front ‘service’ side.

The counter is solid wood, extremely heavy and has beautiful, worked details. It’s true that they don’t make pieces quite like this anymore!

This counter is structurally strong as an ox, but has cosmetic flaws as detailed below* When collecting this piece or if sending a courier, please note it is a two (strong!) man lift.

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. Please note that this counter has lived a long and eventful life! Things to consider: the left end has a small hole drilled in it to allow cabling in/out, the skirting has had repairs and the left end is missing a portion so you may want to replace the skirting there, the counter is open from the rear so the front doors have been secured with bolts. If you want to access this cabinet via the front doors then you will want to secure or replace the internal hinges (currently a pin hinge). Internally, the counter has one half currently laid out with a shelf and the other half is an open space but has the fixings for a shelf if you want to put one in. MORE PHOTOS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.
