A Victorian Silk Church Banner for The Mothers Union

An absolutely beautiful mid-Victorian textile hanging from St Michael and All Angels church in Stanton By Dale. A Mother’s Union piece with gorgeous bejewelled Madonna and child (parts of which are hand painted on paper). Huge size with such intricate work. All hand done. Hangs on a wooden pole. Very worn as seen but to us that’s its real charm.
