A tall bamboo parquet Chinese etagere

A charming, tall and slender wooden etagere with two drawers and cabinet underneath. We’ve not seen one before with this beautiful bamboo parquet. A rare and unusual example. So striking.

This Chinese piece has a beautiful, rich patina and wonderful chased brass adornments. One cupboard door has a top latch, and on the other the handle ‘secretly’ slides over to retract the latch so the doors can fasten securely.

A useful and attractive thing with great attention to detail.

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. As seen in the images, but not limited to: plenty of wear to the surfaces. There are two small strips of bamboo parquet missing on the struts (final images). These don’t detract in our opinion but if these are an issue you could remove two strips from the back of the cabinet to put in place. Structurally sound and sturdy.
