A most unusual, rare, vintage papier-mâché skeleton model in the Dia de Muertos/calavera style.

This folk art model is very large at 150cm and would make a stunning display piece hung up.

It is clearly artisan made and is very detailed. The piece has been expertly sculpted rather than the skeleton just painted onto a basic form. It's simply stunning.

Pieces such as these are increasingly rare; we're delighted to offer it.

If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. Please note: this piece is inherently very fragile and so has losses, breaks and repairs as seen. It is made from a cardboard form with papier-mâché and plaster/gesso overlay, then painted. It appears to have once been wired for lighting but this has been lost in part over time. However, it would be possible to illuminate with LEDs or similar, if desired.
