A naval bicorn hat, tin, epaulettes and other insignia

An absolutely exceptional collection of Royal Naval items to include an original bicorn hat by Hawkes & co in outstanding condition, together with its original Japanned tin case (fully labelled and with empty monogram plate), various epaulettes including those by Gieves Limited, a number of bullion badges and insignia, and a note.

We can date the tin/hat thanks to the Hawkes label- they were founded in 1771 and Hawkes & Co were of 14 Piccadilly, London from c.1850- 1890 when they moved to Savile Row, London (1890/1).

A superb collection by any standards.
