A ‘maiden head’ Louis XIV style gilded mirror

A superb ‘maiden head’ Louis XIV style gilded mirror designed and signed lower right by Vincenzo Fancelli for The Franklin Mint 1986. Full label verso.

This mirror is made of wood with a traditional plaster gesso overlay for some of the moulded parts, then gilded with 24 carat gold.

A very luxurious piece!

Only 1000 were made worldwide, and the retail price in 1986 was $1799.99, the equivalent of nearly $5000 today!
