A truly breathtaking piece, this is a very rare and very large (88cm x 73cm) oleograph by ‘Fiehl Reproductions’ of the painting entitled ‘Flowerpiece’ by Anton Weiss (Austrian, 1802-1851).
An identical one of these sold at Christie’s in May 2005 for £480 before fees (around £685 in today’s money!). This is a sound investment and more importantly a beautiful thing.
Fiehl Reproductions are of the highest quality. They were produced using a secret image transfer system and then over-painted in oils by hand, by Academy of Arts trained artists. Masterpieces were copied right down to the brush strokes of the original painter, and this is no exception. Paper laid on canvas.
Marked verso for Fiehl, England, with the beautiful frame being stamped for Belgium.
An incredibly attractive piece which displays so well.
