A large 19th century oval gilt mirror

A truly exceptional mirror- beautiful, large proportions and the most glorious, organic gesso work over the wood frame (birds, vines, berries and leaves), which has been classically water gilded.

Reassuringly heavy.

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. Please note: There is one very small area of loss as seen in the final image. This could be filled in and/or simply painted. The mirror plate is in superb condition with the smallest foxing spots (3 or 4 flecks) in 2 areas next to the rim. Minimal.
