An early woolen police cape with black lion head clasp- Hertfordshire Constabulary

A wonderful example of an early woolen police cape. It features its original officer number "248" on the collar and has a lion head clasp with horn buttons.

The buttons are marked for the Hertfordshire constabulary but we are not sure if these are original. (It's likely they are later additions to an earlier coat).

A wonderful display piece.

Truncheon and cuffs for illustrative purposes only.

Dimensions:

All approximate as this is an unstructured garment

59cm centre shoulders

105cm centre back length collar to hem

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. Please note: the cape has some uneven edging and a small hole.
