A WWI era sweetheart pin cushion

An antique Boer War/World War One era ‘remember me’ sweetheart pin cushion.

This lovely heart shaped pin cushion has a variety of pretty pins with beaded toppers.

It’s so poignant to think of soldiers overseas making these for their loved ones at home. Just charming. These look beautiful on plinths or in glass domes.

The inscription reads:

At summer’s eve when moon beams pale

Illums the day’s blue sea,

Oh think of one that loves that hour,

Yes, then remember me.
