A 19th Century trompe l'oeil framed bird cage picture

A beautiful and very rare trompe l’oeil picture.

This 19th century piece has a beautiful old etching of a ‘Pieus Himalayensis’ behind a glass fronted cage, the gold bars painted on by hand. This is all then overlaid with the paper edging to complete the illusion.

A truly gorgeous thing.
