A gorgeous, stylish, low bobbin chair with cane seat (in superb order). This chair is slim but deep. London. Late 1800s. It is likely oak or stained beech.
The seat has a beautifully undulating shape and is tapered front to back making this a really pretty piece made by master craftsmen.
It is stamped ‘F L’ to the back of the seat. Although it no longer has the Bowen & Mallon plate which would have been present once (the same as the only other examples we've found in our research) it is certain that this unusual design was produced by Bowen & Mallon of Hampstead, London, in Victorian England.
A handsome thing for any home.

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. As seen in the images, but not limited to: surface wear to the wood. Structurally sound and with the cane seat in good order. There are historic wood worn holes (not active, no powder, and treated just to be sure). Please note the patina differences to the front legs- one may be a (good) replacement?
