A large collection of hand-carved wooden printing blocks

A simply stunning set of around 30+ printing blocks, all late 19th/early 20th century, and purchased around the 1940s: we can be sure of this as it came from a private collection amassed by a wealthy Kenyan family within this period.

Each block is its own work of art, and there are script examples, floral motifs, line work, geometric designs, even a moon! Each is a large block, and intricately hand carved in wood.

The patina and authenticity of these pieces make them such a rare thing. Not to be missed.

Dimensions:

Tape in the final image for scale: these blocks are large.
