An 18th Century pony skin domed trunk

An absolutely wonderful 18th Century pony skin trunk of good size.

This piece is banded in iron with leather work strapping/trim and brass studs. It has cast iron handles and plates.

The monogram on top reads MHS but the initial letter may have been altered, indicating it has probably been passed down through a family. Lining is later.

A simply superb piece with plenty of wear commensurate with age.
