A Meiji period Japanese bronze jardiniere

A truly beautiful Japanese bronze jardiniere. This is a very large example at 34cm. Unusual and rare in these proportions.

We believe this is a Meiji period piece.

The birds and blossom trees are so wonderfully cast in superb detail, down to each feather.

The base is marked as shown.

A beautifully decorative thing and a rare piece.

Condition:

Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. As seen in the images, but not limited to: dents and surface wear. There have been spot welded repairs over the years (plus other areas not repaired) and the vessel is not water tight at the base. We love the fact that this piece has been valued enough to be repaired over the decades.
