A 19th Century carved wood hall chair with monogrammed armorial crest

A wonderful chair that has a great patina and is monogrammed with an intriguing family crest. We love the details on this piece. It absolutely looks the part.

The crest is predominantly red and green, detailing a knight’s helmet and sabaton, surmounted by a green dragon. This needs further research to ascertain the provenance.

Nicely turned legs and scrolled back.

This chair is gorgeous but is not without issues and repairs over its long life. These include a leg repair and a split to the wood of the seat. Still a sturdy piece but best used decoratively.
