A cased Deyrolle student microscope with slides

An absolutely superb example of the portable student ‘Modèle A’ microscope by top maker Deyrolle.

It comes in its original wooden case, complete with some human pathology slides. A really wonderful piece for the collector.

Below, from https://microscope-antiques.com/deyrolleA

“This small student or 'elementary' microscope is made of lacquered brass. It arises from a weighted round foot on a single pillar as a continental limb. Focus is by pushing or pulling the optical tube. There is a single sided gimbaled mirror.

Although often attributed to a time period many years earlier, these little student Deyrolle microscopes date to around 1900, being made from the late 19th century into the early 20th century. As can be seen in the image in the center at the top of the page, this model 'A' was offered with rack and pinion focusing and a bullseye condenser for 25fr or without these features for only 13fr.”

The latter is the one offered here. Rarely available- don’t miss it!
