A pedestal desk with red leather top

A gorgeous late Victorian/early Edwardian pedestal desk with a wonderfully worn red leather top.

We absolutely love the ‘pie crust’, rope effect to the edges- such an attractive feature, and most unusual too. This additional feature is a sign of the quality workmanship in this piece.

The flame of the wood is rich and gorgeous.

The whole piece is raised up on original porcelain castors.

A very useable, stylish piece. The proportions are great on this example: it is ample without being too large.

For us, this piece has the perfect patina with the right amount of age related wear. It’s in great overall condition and structurally it is solid and sound. All the original brass swan handles are present.

Each pedestal has 4 drawers and there is one central drawer (9 in total).

A wonderfully stylish and useful piece, looking for its new home.

Please note: this desk handily separates into three portions so it’s ideal for getting into a space that is tight or where access is difficult.
