A deep open armchair raised on castors

A truly gorgeous Victorian library open armchair with green waxed canvas upholstery, and the most wonderful patina.

This chair is exceptionally comfortable and is generously proportioned (gent seen is 6ft for scale).

The carvings are so handsome, and the legs are wonderful. They terminate in bronze and porcelain castors.

No doubt by an excellent maker but no markings. The chair is solid and sturdy.

A joy for a lifetime. A beautifully stylish thing.

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. As seen in the images, but not limited to: surface wear and marks to the canvas (original stuffing is visible on the top front edge in small spots). Springs seem good (no lumps/bumps) though we can’t inspect as it’s been patched with hessian underneath- this has been at home for a few years and we’ve not had a problem. Some marks and losses to the wood. Very solid and robust frame.
