A pair of large framed Nicholas Robert botanical prints

A very large (70cm) pair of gorgeous old prints. These display so well and are just the most vibrant colours!

We believe the originals are by Nicholas Robert (1614-1684/5) from his 1665 work ‘Variae ac multiformes florum species expressae ad vivum et aeneis tabulis incisae’. He was a large influence on Maria Sibylla Merian.

The paper is hand lain. Wonderful pieces.

Each has an original price of £165 from many years ago.

They both have a very attractive rope border gilt frame, and the mount is hand drawn in those beautiful colours. Top quality. Ready for the wall.
