A very large fortune teller's crystal ball on a stand

A wonderful, extremely large ‘crystal’ gazing ball on a beautifully simple stand. That skull is life size, with this piece standing 30cm tall!

The stand is either bronze or brass, and a very unusual design. It is very heavy, as is the ball.

The stand is marked CDG. The only reference we can find of CDG to this type of piece is Antoine Court De Gebelin who initiated the interpretation of the Tarot as an arcane repository of timeless esoteric wisdom in 1781. The possibility of linking Gebelin to this piece is very intriguing indeed…

The ball is a later addition as it is fairly smooth whereas very early ones are rippled. It nestles perfectly in the stand.

These are very rare things and becoming so hard to find, so do not miss out. This is a stunning, huge example.

The perfect centerpiece on a gypsy table, or addition to your wunderkammer. A great piece for any interior.
