A collection of bone fragments from Dunwich - small case

A collection of bone fragments, found in the mid 1980s on Dunwich Beach, Suffolk.

These may have been washed up, or have been released from the earth directly above the beach.

Some may be human and so may have been disinterred when the cliff top cemetery above Dunwich Beach collapsed due to natural erosion. This occurred between the turn of the century and the early 1920s. Burials had been performed in the cemetery until around the early 1760s so these bones likely pre-date that.

The glass vitrine is included.

One for the true collector and lover of all things Natural History!
