A set of five red leather and brass book boxes

An exceptionally rare set of 5 red leather faux book boxes, complete with wonderful brass button handles.

Each is a large size: 30.5cm x 25cm x 16cm!

These are beautiful objects in their own right but also provide excellent storage.

Leather clad spines. Gilt tooled lettering. Bun handles. Cardboard construction. French maker’s label internally.

We absolutely love these and hope they’ll be with us for a while.

Condition: Where there are specific points to note we will detail these as far as possible but please be aware that all our items have wear commensurate with age and are as seen in the photographs. If you require any specific information please do not hesitate to get in contact. As seen in the images, but not limited to: these have a lot of wear. Some parts have been lovingly repaired with thread (they have been sewn up at the seams). They have rubbing and marks throughout. There is foxing internally. For us, they are extremely attractive exactly because they are so well worn and have lived a life of service. More detailed photos available on request- please just message.
