A Victorian taxidermy leopard rug by Roland Ward for Army and Navy

A fantastic, very early example of a taxidermy leopard rug, unmistakably by top taxidermist Rowland Ward for the Army and Navy store (note the characteristic snarl and custom made eyes).

This is a large example.

Dating to a time when game hunting was a popular pursuit, we would rather this beast was alive but it was created in a very different time to our own with different values and fashions.

A simply superb, period piece for any interior.
